Weaving hair now a days can be confusing. So many companies make cheap weaving which has many short hairs and or non human hair fillers in the industry they call it 10" but made with short hair quality for other brands.
4~6" = 40% = 1.6oz
6~8" = 30% = 1.2oz
8~10" = 20% = 0.8oz
10~11.5" = 10% = 0.4oz
This is called a 40/30/20/10 which is very common for regular quality human hair.
Motown Tress has following and has the same ratio in 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, and 22" weaves and bulks
4~6" = 5% = 0.2oz
6~8" = 5% = 0.2oz
8~10" = 60% = 2.4oz
10~11.5" = 30% = 1.2oz
5/5/60/30 which is very unique in the industry even todays remi hair can be 10/10/60/20.
Short hair is not good because you will have many short hairs sticking out of your hair style. These are called FLY AWAYS
NON HUMAN HAIR FILLERS
Most $30, 10" weavings are 100% human hair customers don't have to worry that it is not true. But most weaving hair under $30 will have non human hair fillers. Most $10, 10" weaving hair will definitely have high temperature synthetic fibers like FUTURA added to it. Many items standard is 30/70% in which 30% human hair and 70% synthetic. Note: Filler fibers are made of animal or synthetic fibers.
QUALITY HUMAN HAIR
Believe it or not, hair is sold as a comodity like corn is on the stock market. Hair is graded for quality. There is bad quality hair that has been permed, dyed from older people so that there are gray hair inside, generally these hair are much much weaker and break easy and is dry and dull. This hair is used for cheap weaving then there is regular grade hair that is okay, lightly dyed or no dyed hair and not permed every hair.
The best hair quality is from young people with thick hair, the diameter is big and the hair thickness is uniform from root to tip of hair. This is grade A and this hair is used to make cuticle free hair. This is the hair Motown Tress uses.
Note: Remi remins nothing today but it just stands for good quality that has been acid washed to remove cuticle, this is much cheaper to make since you can throw 1/2 kilo ton of hair in big vat and mass produce the product.
TRUE CUTICLE HAIR HAS TO BE PROCESSED carefully. You can take hair from up to 9 people and process them as a batch. Problem is you mix the hair with other peoples so hair is not uniform but you can keep the cuticles in tact which is great because hair is not damaged by acid wash. It is more expensive to process but much better than acid washed.
TRUE TOP OF THE LINE HAIR IS 'CUTICLE VIRGIN HAIR' You know what cuticles is now, non acid washed hair, processed in small batches stronger hair. VIRGIN-hair that is cut from one person and processed. This is really expensive to do becuase you have to process one piece at a time. Truely a custom job. Benefit is that hair is extremely uniform. Cuticle are same size, diameter of hair is very similar, much less tangling than cuticle only hair. Since tangles less hair last longer can wash and wash and wash and still looks great. However, don't forget to condition your hair.
Therefore, Motown Tress's hair is Remi quality; it is not cuticle hair; it is acid washed; it is not virgin but it is great quality at a much greater price.
